Ing. Matej Tusek, PhD. (1982) presented the thesis
Spectral Analysis of Two-Dimensional Quantum Models defended in December 2009 at the Czech Technical University
for the thesis Non-classicality of quantum states: decoherence and purification which made important contributions to the problem of decoherence of quantum states in the context of quantum information protocols, in particular for a study of the entanglement properties of a new class of nonclassical states.
The jury also decided to give a honourable mention to the thesis of
entitled Towards long-term prediction of tissue remodelling containing interesting theoretical studies within the framework of non-equilibrium thermodynamics that concern a possible coupling of mechanical loading and chemical reactions in tissues. These theoretical results may find applications in medicine.
