J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the ASCR, v.v.i., offers several positions:

• One 1-year position for RESEARCH ASSISTANT in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry

Requirements: Master and PhD degree in chemistry.
The projects consists in Ab initio and DFT calculations, Non-adiabatic Molecular Dynamics simulations including QM/MM techniques, applied to study of fluorescence and photochemistry of dye molecules embedded in membranes.
More information about the activities of the group see web of the department.
Positions will be financed by the GAAV Project No. IAA400400810.

• One 1-year position (with possible extension) for RESEARCH ASSISTANT in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry

Requirements: Master and PhD degree in chemistry or physics.
The projects consists in development, implementation, and application of multireference coupled cluster methods, in particular of their explicitly correlated versions. More information about the activities of the group see web of the department.
Positions will be financed by the Czech Science Foundation grant No. P208/11/2222.

• Two 1-year positions for RESEARCH ASSISTANTS in the Department of Biophysical Chemistry

Requirements: PhD degree in chemistry. The project is focused on advanced fluorescence imaging in biosciences. Previous experience with the fluorescence techniques is necessary. More information about the activities of the group see web of the department.
Positions will be financed via a project given by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic (grant No. LC06063).

• One 9-month position for POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW in the Department of Biophysical Chemistry starting from January 1st, 2011

Requirements: PhD degree in organic chemistry. The project is focused on the synthesis of advanced fluorescence probes directly applied for the imaging of molecular processes in living cells. Previous experience with organic synthesis is essential. More information is available from marek.cebecaueratjh-inst.cas.cz.
Position will be financed via a project given by the Czech Science Foundation grant No. P305/11/0459

• One 1-year position for RESEARCH ASSISTANT in the Department of Structure and Dynamics in Catalysis

Requirements: Master or PhD degree in chemistry, physical chemistry or chemical technology.
The candidate will participate in the project on Processing of products of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for alternative motor fuels and other refined products and research of their properties. The candidate activity would consist in preparation and complex spectroscopic and catalytic evaluation of catalysts for this process. More information about the activities of the group see web of the department.
