Přednáška představí ukázky projektů, které ilustrují aplikovatelnost metod digitálního zpracování obrazu v tak vzdálené oblasti, jako je restaurování uměleckých děl. Navštívíme například chrám sv. Víta, pracoviště AVU, Kostolany pod Tríbečom a muzeum Van Gogha. Kromě vlastních výsledků pracoviště ÚTIA AV ČR budou zmíněny výsledky výzkumu v uvedené aplikační oblasti ze světových laboratoří.

Graphene moires on platinum & Probing the paths towards RNA synthesis

Two of current surface-science topics will be outlined. First, we will see a study of graphene formed on Pt(111) surfaces by thermal decomposition of fullerene molecules. STM images reveal a variety of moire superstructures that are successfully explained by a simple geometric model. The study also sheds some light on the role of the preparation conditions and precursor on the resulting structures.

Ad hoc workshops are small two days workshops organized by authors of the crystallographic software Jana2006. The topics and dates are selected by participants. The topic of the 7th workshop are magnetic structures.

The purpose of this workshop is detailed explanation of the new option in Jana2006 for refinement of magnetic structures from neutron powder or single crystal data. Jana2006 includes tools for determination of magnetic symmetry from the symmetry of diffraction pattern as well as tools for representative analysis.
