Self-Government of Small Municipalities and Their Endogenous Development Potential

On matters relating to the operation of local authorities, which have in addition to the theoretical importance a basic practical impact as well, belongs the link between government performance and endogenous development potential of municipalities. Endogenous development potential is a summary of the internal conditions and resources of the community, which may stimulate the economic, demographic and cultural development. The Czech Republic is characterized by highly fragmented structure of municipalities. Meaningfulness and functioning of the government in the smallest villages have been discussed. The question is how government of small rural communities can influence their development. Project using quantitative and qualitative approach analyzes the relation between the performance of self-government of small rural communities and their development potential.
