CERGE-EI Library offers you:
Charles University E-resources Portal - remote access via EZProxy

Charles University E-resources Portal

A University Central Authentication Service login with your university personal number and password is required.

CERGE-EI electronic resources have been included in Charles University E-resources Portal.

CERGE-EI Onelog, a tool for remote access to prepaid databases, will be operated by the CERGE-EI Library until November 14, 2009.

It proved to be a beneficial tool for some time, but technology has progressed, so the Charles University Computer Centre (CUCC) decided to run EZProxy centrally as well for all University faculties, institutes and the other centers.

EZproxy server is a library application maintained by CUCC. It provides access to electronic online resources under the rules associated with authentication settings and login accounts. The basic function is to provide information resources from a computer connected to the Internet anywhere (at home, at work, in an Internet cafe) on the same comfort level as from an intranet computer.

I want to create a login and password to Charles University E-resources Portal now!

We wish you success with Charles University services.

Your CERGE-EI Onelog Team,
Jana Koudelkova and Tomas Pavela

Common problems you may face – Charles University Central Authentication Service (CUNI CAS)

You are student/employee and you do not have a CUNI student/staff card.
You may get one free of charge without delay, including taking your picture, at:
Praha Informačně-poradenské centrum UK, Celetná 13.

Working hours during the semester: Mo-Thu 9-18, Fri 9-16;

Working hours during summer until 30 September: Mo-Thu 10-15, Fri 10-13.

More info about staff cards see is here (Czech only).

You have problems filling out the password form.
(e.g. as a foreigner you do not have a birth code).
Jana Koudelkova and Tomas Pavela

You have successfully filled out the form but the password does not work.
After filling out the form, you will get an email, and you have to confirm the link inside the email.

You have confirmed the link but the password is still not working.
Some email clients break the very long link produced by the CUCC system into two lines and only the first line is hyperlinked. You need to copy the whole link (e.g. into Microsoft Word), connect the two lines into one line and paste the complete address into a web browser.

You have problems with running databases or want to ask more questions.
Contact CUNI CAS sdministrator Ing. J. Pavlik at pavlik-onelog@cuni.cz or take a look at Technical Details.

The Library is also ready to help you with any problems you may have logging in to the CUNI CAS; contact us at library@cerge-ei.cz.

More detailed explanation

Why do I need the login and password for CUNI CAS?
The Charles University Computer Centre (CUCC) has a complex authentication policy, which includes a CAS. More info at: CUCC pages. One of the advantages should be that in the future you can use this login and password for all applications offered by Charles University.
