Binary Asteroid Parameters

We compile parameters of binary systems among near-Earth, Mars-crossing, main belt, and Trojan asteroids. A construction of the list is described in the paper:
Pravec, P., Harris A.W., Binary Asteroid Population. 1. Angular Momentum Content, Icarus 190 (2007) 250-259 (get reprint).

The datasets for following release dates are available:
2010 04 08 (update complete for binaries with D_1 < 20 km)
2007 12 04
2007 05 14
2006 10 15 (the release used in the paper Pravec and Harris mentioned above)

Some questions/answers:

Q: Do you consider to put your data on a web site where they could be looked up directly (even if not all the details needed for full use would be viewed there)?
A: We realize that while the text files provided in the zipped file above give the detailed information, some users might wish to use a web interface for a quick look up. We consider setting such. Placing the data on a web service developed and run for such purpose by another entity is an option too.

Q: Will you add some more parameters to your data set in future?
A: Yes, when and as a need to use them for studies of the binary population properties arises.

Q: Do you include data on multiple (triple) systems?
A: No, so far we handle only binaries, i.e., systems of two bodies. There is one known triple system, 87 Sylvia (Marchis et al. 2005, Nature 436, 822). We have entered into our database data for the larger of its two satellites, as it dominates the Sylvia's satellite system so it should be good as the first order approximation for some purposes.
