Graduated from Charles University Faculty of Law in 1967. Received her CSc. (Ph.D.) in Economics from the Institute of Economics, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Prague in 1979. Prior to 1979 Assistant-Specialist at the Institute of Economics, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. A Researcher at the Institute of Economics since 1979. From December 1992 to the present, a Senior Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in the field of Environmental Economy. Visiting Fellow of the international project "Environmental Protection Efforts in the U.S.," sponsored by the U.S. Information Agency in 1990. Visiting Fellow of the international project "Environment and Economic Reform: Towards Cleaner Production" within the European Community Action for Cooperation in the Field of Economics, Erasmus Centre for Environmental Studies, University of Rotterdam in 1992. Study visits at leading institutions in the field of Environmental Economy in Italy (1991), Norway (1992), Finland (1993), Israel (1995), South Africa (1996), China (1997), Spain (1998), Belgium (1999) and Estonia (2000). Czechoslovak representative on the committee of experts for compensation for damage caused to the environment within the Council of Europe. Several years Member of the Advisory Board for the Economy of the Czech Environment Minister. A member of the Czech Association for the Club of Rome, and a member of the Environmental Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

Research Orientation:

Environmental economy, environmental policy in the course of transition to a market economy, instruments of environmental policy, environmental impairment liability, financing of environmental protection, evaluation of environmental benefits and damage, assessing the environmental impact policy on micro and macrosphere, European unification process in the environmental field.
