Ph.D. in Economics, University of Pittsburgh in 1997. M.A. in Economics, University of Pittsburgh, 1996. M.Sc. in Econometrics and Operations Research, Prague School of Economics, 1992 (with honor). September 1992-April 1998, Teaching Fellow, Department of Economics, University of Pittsburgh. July 2001-August 2001, Visiting Professor, Department of Economics, Concordia University, Montreal. August 1998-May 2003, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Membership of Academy of Economics and Finance. Membership of Midwest Economics Association. Since 2003 an Assistant Professor at CERGE, and a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He served as the Deputy Director for Research at CERGE-EI from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Zemčík has published in peer reviewed academic journals such as Journal of Housing Economics, Journal of Real Estate Economics and Finance, Journal of Multivariate Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance or Southern Economic Journal. In 2006, he received the Marie-Curie Global Reintegration Fellowship from the European Commission and was awarded the Wichterle Award for Outstanding Young Researchers of the Academy of Sciences in the Czech Republic.
Research orientation: Financial economics, econometrics, real estate finance.
