Programs

The Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) offers Masters- and Doctoral-level programs in Economics and Applied Economics, as well as a study abroad program. The working language of the institution is English.

MA/PhD in Economics

The MA/PhD program consists of two years of coursework followed by two to three years of supervised dissertation research. Students earn a Master of Arts degree after completing the two-year coursework. Students continuing with the dissertation research earn a PhD degree after defending the dissertation. Students are encouraged to conduct part of their dissertation research at partner institutions in Western Europe and North America, as well as to participate in collaborative research projects in other countries.
