Education and academic qualifications: 1983 PhDr in Art History, Charles University Prague, thesis – Figurally Decorated Frames of Bohemian Gothic Paintings; 1995 PhD in Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences – thesis: Relationship Between Bohemian Graceful Madonnas and Icons; 2001 Assistant Professor, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University; 2005 Professor, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University
 
Professional experience: 1977–1991 National Gallery in Prague, since 1983 Curator in Dept. of Old Bohemian Art; 1992–1996 Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences; 1996–1997 National Gallery in Prague, Collection of Old Masters; 1998–2005 Faculty of Education, Charles University; 1998–2010 Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Department of Art History, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University Brno; since 2009 Research Fellow, Collegium Europaeum (joint project of the Academy of Sciences and Charles University); since 2010 Professor, Department of Theory and History of Art, Academy of Arts in Prague.

Professional stays abroad: 2007/08 – Fellow at Wissenschaftskolleg (Institute for Advanced Study Berlin); 2009/10 Visiting Professor, Institut für Kunst- und Bildgeschichte, Humboldt-Universität Berlin.

Teaching activities: lectures in history of medieval art (10th–15th century) and in methodology of art history, leading of seminars, diploma and doctorate theses.
 
Research activities: She has been involved in research in the field of Art History and Culture of Middle Ages (e.g. History Teacher in a Museum. Didactic material for the exhibition Glory of the Baroque Bohemia; Between the Gothic and the Renaissance - art of the Jagiellonian period in Bohemia and Moravia). Her next research activities are focused with the Methodology of Art History.

Awards: Medal of the Rector of the Masaryk University for the best scholarly publication in 2001.
 
Member: 1999–2003 Advisory Board of the director of Moravian Gallery Brno; 1998–2002 Board of the grant program "Open Door to the Museum", Open Society Fund Prague; 2002–2005 Board of the committee 408, State Grant Agency of the Czech Republic; since 2005 Board of the grant program in visual arts, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic; since 2004 Working group of the Accrediting Committee of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic; since 2004 Buying advisory committee, National Gallery in Prague - Collection of Old Masters; since 2007 Scientific advisory board, Collegium Bohemicum (Museum for the History of Germans in Bohemia). She was or is member of the board of editors of some journals (Castrum Pragense; Bulletin of the Moravian Gallery; Opuscula Historiae Colloquia Medievalia Pragensia). Fellow of the Center of Medieval Studies (Institute of Philosophy of the ASCR).
