Research / Teaching

The Institute of Art History undertakes basic research into mediaeval art, early modern art, and the art of the 19th to the 21st centuries in the Czech lands and in broader international contexts. Special consideration is given to the documentation and protection of the artistic heritage with an emphasis on inter-disciplinary research. The research is divided up into separate projects which to some extent cover the entire spectrum of activity of the Institute, and also into projects that are carried out by working groups or individual staff members.
