The project deals with exploitation of long-period fiber gratings for sub-picosecond pulse shaping. Fiber structures containing generally more than one grating with desired amplitude and phase characteristics are designed and realized. An example of such a structure is a pulse shaper for generation of a square or a triangular waveform from an input Gaussian pulse. In this project, two spectral bands are of interest – the 1.55-µm and 800-nm bands.
