Abstract |
This proposal is focused on the cutting-edge synthesis of new nonplanar polycondensed aromatic systems and exploration of new molecules and materials of high complexity derived from helicenes. The goal is to develop new synthetic methodologies for their preparation stemming from [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerisation of alkynes under transition metal catalysis. The attention will be paid to the synthesis of long and/or wide helical aromatics, helicene-based π-conjugated polymers and Euclidean polygons and the on-surface organisation of these systems. |
