Mathematical Modeling of Natural Gas Consumption

It is essential for natural gas distribution and trading companies to understand their customers' behavior. Such information are very important in many different areas of the gas distribution industry including natural gas purchase and sale balancing, trading and marketing support, line losses calculation, etc. The main aim of the project is development of mathematical models for estimation of natural gas consumption for small commercial and residential consumers whose consumption is not measured on a daily or monthly basis. Some models have been implemented into the software systems and they are operationally used in several natural gas distribution companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
