Description/Comments:
Pending final budgetary approval, the Institute of Mathematics plans to open one or several positions for visiting scholars in the period September 2012 - August 2013.

The positions are intended for research-oriented mathematicians from any field of pure or applied mathematics, and they carry no teaching duties. Recent PhD's will receive a special attention. The minimum duration of the stay is six months (by mutual agreement).

Candidates are invited to submit a letter of application accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a list of publications to:

Candidates should be PhD; if the applicant has not yet completed his/her doctorate, the expected date of its completion must be given (the latest acceptable date is July 1, 2012).

The letter of application should specify collaborating researchers or research groups of the Institute of Mathematics, as well as the preferred period for the stay.

Candidates should further arrange for three letters of recommendation to be mailed directly to director's office, so that they are received by January 31, 2012 (e-mail recommendations are acceptable).

The visiting scholar obtains the same salary as regular employees of the Institute according to Czech national legislation and current institute regulations. In addition, the Institute can arrange a modest lodging at a reasonable cost in the hotel of the Academy of Sciences.

Deadline for applications is January 31, 2012. The review process will be conducted soon afterwards.
