The book deals about the contribution of Josef Macek to the Czech economic thought in 1920-65. It contains the edited text of unpublished posthumous manuscript of Josef Macek, written in his exile at the University of Pittsburgh and Vancouver. It concentrates on the methodology of economics, sociology, political science and law, especially on the procedures how various proofs of logic, fact and values are undetaken. Macek has raised doubts about the capacity of social sciences to give proofs subject to scientific requirements.
