Druhá část seriálu o využití hmyzích feromonů v integrované ochraně rostlin (Integrated Pest Management – IPM) přibližuje význam sexuálního atraktantu kodlemonu při kontrole populací obaleče jablečného (Cydia pomonella). Obaleč jablečný je tzv. klíčový škůdce jabloňových sadů, kdy nevhodné použití insekticidů proti němu mění početnost populací i jiných druhů bezobratlých. Feromonové lapáky s kodlemonem umožňují šetrnější dávkování insekticidů.

The second part of the article on the use of insect pheromones in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) presents the importance of a sexual attractant called codlemone for the control of the Codle Moth (Cydia pomonella). The insect species is a key pest to apple orchards where unsuitable pesticide application against it can affect population numbers in non-target invertebrate species. Pheromone traps baited with codlemone allow insecticides to be dosed in a more environmentally friendly way.
