The long term goal of the Laboratory of Plant Cytoskeleton and Cell Cycle is study of plant cytoskeleton. Regulation to cytoskeleton, specifically characterization of plant Aurora kinases and their regulatory functions in plant mitosis and cytokinesis present our current research interest. Interaction of Aurora kinases with their activators, such as TPX2 protein, is studied particularly in relation to cytoskeleton organization and cytokinesis. We characterized also plant homologue of RanBPM protein.
Since 2010 is the Laboratory a part of the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, as part of the research unit - Centre of Plant Structural and Functional Genomics (head prof. Jaroslav Dolezel).
