Multivariate analysis

Multivariate analysis is concerned with understanding complex structures of interconnected subsystems.

Analysis of relationships in networks

Multiple dynamical systems can be coupled in intricate ways creating structures leading to complicated behavior.  The systems (nodes) in such network may be connected through multiple paths.  Some subsets of nodes are coupled more tightly than others: such sets define communities in the network.  Other clusterings may be investigated.  Many algorithms to segment a network of systems have been proposed and investigated up to date. Determining the connectivity in such networks is an inverse problem which is difficult to solve correctly.

Testing significance of association measures

Time series measured from systems in a complex network are related to each other and not independent.  Special care must be taken when testing the significance of bivariate association measures in such networks.
