esor 2013

Welcome to ESOR 2013 in Prague!

The 14th European Symposium on Organic Reactivity (ESOR 2013) organized by the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry will be held at the National Technical Library in Prague between the

1st and 6th of September 2013 in Prague, Czech Republic
.

The ESOR Symposia are dedicated to fundamental research in organic chemistry and related areas, emphasizing the understanding of reactions (e.g., mechanisms, energetics) as well as the structures of compounds and materials. Experimental as well as theoretical contributions are welcomed with a particular preference for multidisciplinary approaches. The ESOR conference series started in Paris in 1987 and had been held every second year since then: Padova, Italy (1989), Göteborg, Sweden (1991), Newcastle, UK (1993), Santiago de Compostela, Spain (1995), Louvain la Neuve, Belgium (1997), Ulm, Germany (1999), Cavtat, Croatia (2001), Oslo, Norway (2003), Rome, Italy (2005), Faro, Portugal (2007), Haifa, Israel (2009), and Tartu, Estonia (2011).

The program will include plenary and invited lectures, oral presentations, poster presentations, and an exhibition. We wish to cover all important areas of physical-organic chemistry and its interactions with other sciences, e.g., mechanistic studies as a driving force in modern synthesis, physical-organic chemistry of complex systems, new experimental and theoretical methods in organic chemistry.

The opening lecture about the fascinating world of chemical robotics will be provided by František Štěpánek, ERC grant holder from the ICT in Prague (Czech Republic).

We hope that ESOR 2013 will create grounds for new scientific collaboration and enhance the personal contacts of scientists in the field. The organizers will make efforts to provide you with an attractive scientific program and otherwise the beautiful city of Prague offers a unique cultural surrounding.

We are looking forward for your contributions to ESOR 2013.
