Ing. Tomáš Konečný, Ph.D.

Tomáš Konečný is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CERGE-EI. He graduated with distinction from the Erasmus Mundus Program in 2002 in International Trade and EU Integration run by a consortium of nine European universities and graduated from the Prague School of Economics in 2005 in International Trade and Finance. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from CERGE in 2006 and 2009, respectively. In 2006, he was a Visiting Student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In 2006 and 2007 he ranked 2nd and 3rd in the Young Economist of the Year Award organized by the Czech Economic Society. Between 2006 and 2009, he worked as a Junior Researcher at the Economics Institute and from January 2008 and November 2009 as a Researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he participated in projects evaluating tertiary education finance in the Czech Republic. He currently works as Economist at the Financial Stability Unit of the Czech National Bank.
