Graduated in Computer Science with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, Prague, in 1994. Held three research fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh: one awarded by the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan Business School (September-December 1996) and the others by the Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (February-May 1998 and July-September 1999). Since 1997 a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Member of the European Econometric Society. Visiting research scholar at Groupe de Recherche en Économie Quantitative d'Aix-Marseille, Université de la Méditerranée, EHESS (October-December 2001) and Paris-Jourdan Sciences +Economics PSE-Ecole d'économie de Paris, EHESS (June 2010). On July 1st 2005 he joined CERGE, Charles University, Prague.

Research Orientation:

Banking and financial markets, international trade and finance, labour economics, micro- economics of auctions.
