Transparent Intensional Logic

Our most world-known philosophical logician, the late Professor Pavel Tichý has founded an original conception of logic called transparent intensional logic (TIL). He has shown that topical problems of logical semantics, in particular of semantics of natural language, can be solved using TIL. Accepting the approach to logic and logical analysis of natural language as defined by TIL we are developing methods of solving particular problems. As documented by numerous publications (articles as well as monographs) we have been successful in approaching following problems: general principles of logical analysis of natural language expressions, semantics of propositional attitudes, distinguishing between using and mentioning meanings, semantics of 'notional attitudes' etc. We have shown that what is called 'concept' is best explicated as a kind of abstract procedure; this proved to be a good step leading to connections with computer scientists, who already exploited the ideas of TIL building up a system that uses concepts as abstract robots. We are developing and testing methods of TIL, especially analyzing some more complicated linguistic structures.
