Molecular, cellular and systemic mechanisms of major diseases of the human organism, their diagnosis, therapy and pharmacotherapy
The aim of the Plan is the practical implementation of the obtained results in molecular and cellular biology, embryology, pharmacology, neurophysiology, neuropathology, neuropharmacology, immunopharmacology, genotoxicology and teratology. The research will be oriented towards understanding subcellular structures, receptors and mediators, cell interactions, the functions of cells, tissues and organs, and the pathological changes evoked in humans by harmful external and internal substances. The main goal will be to develop new approaches for the diagnosis and therapy of major diseases and to introduce them into clinical use. Applications will include medicine (therapeutic methods in neurosurgery, emergency treatment of brain and spinal cord injury, immunology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery and radiology), the pharmaceutical industry (drug development and diagnostic kits), hygiene and epidemiology (risk assessment of environmental compounds).
