Library Rooms and Facilities
Reading Room
Collection: Current and last year’s journals, newspapers (Mladá Fronta Dnes, Lidové Noviny, Právo, Prague Post), and selected working papers, UPCES materials.
Facilities: 2 computers with access to the library catalog and special databases; 14 study seats.
Lending Library
Circulation desk: Lending, returns and renewal activities, registration of new users, and all other user services.
Collection: Main monograph collection (over 15 000) available on open access, sorted according to the Dewey Decimal Classification; textbooks (marked by red labels); reference textbooks and other reference material (marked by yellow labels); display of new books.
Facilities: 2 computers with access to the library catalog and special databases, 1 computer with free access to the internet for registered users (reservations can be made at the circulation desk), 1 self-operated scan and copy machine; 5 study seats; personal lockers, entrance to restrooms.
2nd Hall
Collection: 2,500 publications of the World Bank: monographs, statistics, reports, studies (from 1994 the library has been a Depository Library of the WB).
Facilities: 1 copy machine, 2 seats; entrance to restroom for the disabled.
Study Room
Quiet study area.
Collection: Retrospective collection of Core journals (list); CSU publications; reference books.
Facilities: 2 computers for CERGE-EI members (password needed); 17 study seats.
Back Study Room
Very Quiet study area.
Collection: Statistical monographs, OECD and IMF collections; books and other materials from the former Economics Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences (EU CSAV) (published approx. between 1950 – 1992).
Facilities: 2 computers for CERGE-EI members (password needed); 6 study seats.
The library possesses two Stock Rooms that are not open to the public. For access to materials stored there, please ask the librarian at the circulation desk.
Basement
Collection: Older working papers, textbook stock, historical materials (books published before 1950), CERGE-EI dissertations, dissertations of the EU CSAV, other materials published by EU CSAV, housed in a room dating back centuries.
Stock Room
Collection: Over 35 000 issues of economics journals (except core journals).
Wifi connection is available throughout the whole library.
The library entrance is secured by a turnstile. All registered users have to use a valid library card (ISIC) to get into the library. If you are new to the library, or if you face difficulties to get in, please ring the bell.
