Sergey Slobodyan is an Associate Professor of CERGE, Charles University, Prague and a Senior Researcher of the Economics Institute of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He has received M.Sc. in Physics from Novosibirsk State University in 1988 and later worked at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Novosibirsk. He received his M.A. in Economics from Washington University in 1996, and Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in 2000. He has taught economics in St. Louis, Prague, Frankfurt, Kiev, and Novosibirsk.

Research Orientation:

Bayesian estimation of DSGE models, especially under adaptive learning; large deviations theory in models of monetary policy; adaptive learning; interaction of public pensions and public educational systems; dynamics of growth models with multiple steady states and indeterminacy; micro-simulations of various markets, such as education and electricity, using agent-based computational economics.
