Processes new book additions to the collection and creates a catalogue of names and subjects. Requested documents that have not been electronically processed to date are catalogued before being loaned, thereby adding retrospective records to the catalogue.

The department is also responsible for training the staff of libraries of institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in ALEPH system cataloguing.
