Nuclear Physics Institute ASCR announces two postdoctoral positions in the field of ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions

  1. The Nuclear Physics Institute ASCR is seeking a postdoctoral associate in Experimental Nuclear Physics, to contribute to our research program in ALICE and STAR experiments. The position is opened starting July 1st 2012 for three years. The position is intended for research-oriented nuclear or particle physicist having some experience in simulation and data analysis of heavy-ion experiments (SPS, RHIC or LHC).  The candidate will participate actively in ongoing activities of the Ultra-relativistic heavy ion group which is involved in ALICE experiment at LHC and in STAR experiment at RHIC. Experience in one of the following domains would be an advantage: femtoscopy, particle correlations.
  2. The Nuclear Physics Institute ASCR is seeking a postdoctoral associate in Theoretical Nuclear and Particle Physics. The position is opened starting July 1st 2012 for three years. The position is intended for theory-oriented nuclear or particle physicist having experience in phenomenological analysis of high-energy hadron-nucleus and/or nucleus-nucleus data from SPS, RHIC, FNAL, LHC experiments. The research program will be focused around activities of the Ultra-relativistic heavy ion group which is involved in ALICE experiment at LHC and in STAR experiment at RHIC.

Candidates should be PhD; if the applicant has not yet completed his/her doctorate, the expected date of its completion must be given (the latest acceptable date is June 1, 2012).

Candidates should submit a letter of application accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a list of publications to:
