Prof.) – Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, 2002. Professor of genetics and molecular biology at the Faculty of Science since 2006
Positions held: Since 1968 – in the Institute of Molecular Genetics (formerly Institute of Experimental Biology and Genetics), Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences). Head of the Mouse Molecular Genetics Department. In 1992/93 Visiting Professor at Department of Molecular Biology, Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, USA.
Professional activities, honours: Functional genomics and genetics of laboratory mouse as a model organism in biomedical research. Published >100 scientific papers in top journals including Science, Nature, Cell, PNAS, Trends in Genetics or EMBO J. His papers received >1700 citations according to SCI and WoS. His projects were supported from prestigious grant agencies including NIH (3 grants), Howard Hughes Medical Institute, USA, (supported from 1995 till 2005) or EU 5FP and 6FP grants. Elected member of EMBO and member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic. Member of Science Advisory Boards in the USA and in Germany.
