This seminar gives an introduction of the research activities in Prof. Darina Murray's heat transfer group at Trinity College Dublin, focusing specifically on synthetic jet impingement. The general approach and some advances in measurement techniques are reviewed, including fluctuating heat transfer measurements using surface-mounted hot-film anemometry, high speed infrared thermography, and high dynamic range particle image velocimetry. Finally some selected results are discussed in adjacent interacting synthetic jets
