George Robertson is a British Labor Party politician who was the Secretary General of NATO between 1999 and 2004. Before taking up the position in NATO, he served as Defence Secretary for the United Kingdom. Being repeatedly elected to The House of Commons, he also served in Privy Council and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Currently he is Senior Counselor at The Cohen Group and he holds positions on the Board of numerous British companies including Cable & Wireless International, Weir Group PLC and TNK-BP. He was knighted (GCMG) in 2003.
