The Socio-economics of Housing Department

The Socio-economics of Housing Department is one of the research teams at the Institute of Sociology of Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic.

Department activities:

sociological research on housing: housing expenditures of households, housing carriers, satisfaction with housing, attitudes towards different tenures and different state interventions in the housing market;

international comparisons of housing policies with special attention to the social aspects of housing: social housing systems, housing allowances;

econometric simulations of different European housing allowance models under Czech conditions;

social housing finance.

 

Successes

Martin Lux received 18. 10. 2012 the Award of the Chair of the Czech Science Foundation for outstanding results of the project "Social Inequalities and the Market Risks Following from Housing Consumption. The Real and Desirable Response of State Fiscal and Monetary Policies". See short presentation of M. Lux and the research project.

Socio-ekonomics of Housing Department of theInstitute of Sociology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in cooperation with other partners organized the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) 2009 Conference. The topic of the conference was "Changing Housing Markets: Integration and Segmentation". Conference was held 28.6.-1.7.2009 at the University of Economics Prague.
