Collections

The Institute administers extensive collections of prints, historical plans, photographs, and written sources.

The process of making them accessible to the specialist public will be taken care of by the Department of Documentation, a specialised expert department, which carries out three basic and closely interlinked tasks. The first one is research in the field of sources for art history, the second editorial work, and the third providing a service for researchers. Photographs from the estate of Josef Sudek and Josef Ehm are kept in the Institute’s photo archive.

Because they are currently being inventoried, the collections of prints, plans, and old photographs are accessible only exceptionally by prior arrangement with their curators.
