MAE Alumni Advisory Board

Meet the CERGE-EI Alumni Advisory Board. This group of successful professionals advises the MAE program on various important program decisions and ensures the quality of the program. They also serve as excellent examples of the kinds of careers that MAE alumni can expect to have after graduation.

 

Tomáš Kadlec (Czech Republic, PhD 2002)

Tomáš Kadlec is currently Business Development Director at DIRECT Pojišťovna in Prague, which he joined in late 2010. After finishing his PhD degree, he worked as a Project Manager at McKinsey & Company's Prague office. 

 

 

 

 

Anna Racheva-Sarabian (Bulgaria, PhD 2007)

Anna Racheva-Sarabian is a Vice President at Fieldman, Rolapp & Associates, a financial advisory firm located in Orange County, California, which she joined in 2003. Before joining the firm, she served as an investment banking analyst at CommerzBank in Prague.

 

 

 

 

Alexei Kapkin (Russia, MA equiv. 1995)

Alexei Kapkin is Global Equity Analyst and Partner at River and Mercantile Asset Management in London, a position he has held since 2009. From 1997 he had a position at Dresdner Kleinwort Wassertein as a Research Analyst based in London and Moscow covering banks, other financials, mining and engineering stocks.

 

 

 

Martina Lubyová (Slovakia, PhD 2002)

Martina Lubyová is currently a Member of the Scientific Council and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Forecasting at the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. She is also on the teaching staff at the Economics University in Bratislava's Faculty of Economic Informatics. After completing her PhD at CERGE-EI in 2002, she worked at the International Labor Organization (ILO) as an Employment Development Specialist in the ILO's Sub-regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in Moscow, Russia.

 

 

Olga Cook (née Borissova) (Kazakhstan, MA 2006)

Olga Cook currently works as a Business Development Specialist & Business Analyst at SAP in Prague, an international business software corporation. She previously worked as a Senior eBusiness Analyst at Monster Worldwide, a global recruiting group.

 

 

 

Richard Podpiera (Czech Republic, PhD 2001)

Richard Podpiera is Director of Management Consulting and Operational Excellence, Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB), Prague.  He wasformerly Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, Prague, and Economist for Monetary and Financial Systems at the IMF in Washington, D.C.
