Graduated in Computer Science with a bachelor's and a master's degree from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, Prague, in 1994. Held three research fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh: one awarded by the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan Business School (September-December 1996) and the others by the SasakawaYoung Leaders Fellowship Fund (February-May 1998 and July-September 1999). Visiting research scholar at Groupe de Recherche en Économie Quantitative d'Aix-Marseille, Université de la Méditerranée, EHESS (October-December 2001) and Paris-Jourdan Sciences +Economics PSE-Ecole d'économie de Paris, EHESS (June 2010). From July 2005 till 2010 he joined CERGE, Charles University. From 1997 he is a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Member of the European Econometric Society.

Research Orientation:

Banking and financial markets, international trade and finance, labour economics, micro- economics of auctions.
