prof. Ing. Stanislav Labík, CSc.

(born in 1951 Prague)


prof. Ing. Stanislav Labík, CSc. Graduated from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, in 1975. PhD in Physical Chemistry was obtained from the same university in 1979. Since 1980 he has been working for the Institute of Chemical Technology. In 1991, he was promoted to Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry and in 2000 he was appointed Professor of Physical Chemistry. Between 2002 and 2007 he worked as Vice-rector of Education.

Stanislav Labík has mainly been involved in research in the field of statistical thermodynamics of liquids. He has contributed to the theory of simple molecular liquids and the development of new numerical methods for the solution of integral equations to describe the structure and thermodynamics of liquids. He authored and co-authored over 80 original papers. His work has been cited more than 1200 times. He also cooperates with industry mainly in applied thermodynamics of gases and liquids.

His main field of interest in teaching is the application of modern information technologies to different subjects of Chemical Engineering, especially the use of computer algebraic systems. He has also cooperated on several electronic educational materials in Physical Chemistry. As Vice-rector he completed several pedagogical projects devoted to the implementation of structured study programs and increase in the quality and excellence of pedagogical activities at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague.
