The department of the Experimental Programmes (as a part of the European ELI Beamlines project) is focused on the research and development of sources of ultra-short intense x-ray or charged particle pulses (electrons, protons and ions) and their application for basic, material, biological and medical research. In the ELI Beamlines facility these sources will be driven by ultra intense laser beams with peak power of up to 10 PW. In addition, the scope of the department includes also the preparation and operation of the above mentioned sources and applications for world-wide user community.
