Past & Present

The Team of Molecular Spectroscopy was established in 2010. However, vibrational (infrared and Raman) and circular dichroism spectroscopies have a very long tradition at IOCB. Experimental circular dichroism spectroscopy existed since the 70s as a part of the former department of peptide chemistry and it will always be connected with the names of Ivo Frič and Karel Bláha. The tradition of vibrational spectroscopy is even longer and refers to drs Plíva, Horák, and Smolíková.
