The Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

was founded in 1965. The aim is analysis of long-term social processes in Czech society within the context of European integration policies and the development of a knowledge-based society and human, social, and cultural capital; research in social stratification, political sociology, economic sociology, sociology of education, regional studies, gender studies and others; conducts one-time surveys, ongoing empirical research, comparative studies, case studies, and in-depth surveys and public opinion polls;

 

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, Section of Geography

founded in 1348. Research at the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development is focused on following themes: regional development and regional policies on national and European levels; long-term development in land use and cover change in rural areas;
comparative research of urban change in post-communist societies; the position of the Czech Republic in the international migration within enlarged Europe.

 

University of Economics, Prague, Faculty of Economics and Public Administration

established in 1953. The aim is courses on national economic theories, regional studies, public administration; international scientific research and an advisory body for government authorities and state administration.
