Investigation and detailed understanding of microstructure of ferroelectrics is interesting from both fundamental and application-related point of view. In this talk I will address internal properties of ferroelectric domain walls (interfaces between ferroelectric domains) and how they can contribute to the piezoelectric and dielectric response of the material. In particular, recent results on Bloch-type domain walls will be presented. Our tools are analytical calculations as well as numerical simulations in the framework of the so called phase-field approach.
