Within the perovskite structure, the oxygen octahedra may rotate around any of the three main axis, simultaneously or separately. Such a distortion may accompany orbital ordering or lattice distortions and are linked to metal-insulator transitions, onset or cancellation of ferroelectricity etc. In this seminar, I will review these rotations, under pressure, in thin films and superlattices, aiming at opening a discussion on the parameters governing their evolution.
