Modern methods of time series analysis based on nonlinear dynamics, theory
of deterministic chaos and information theory will be developed, tested and
applied in detection and characterization of synchronization phenomena in
complex nonlinear processes with special attention to assessing causality
(drive-response) relations.
The methods will be tested using the data from coupled chaotic systems and
applied in analyses of electrophysiological data, such as EEG (esp. in
epilepsy) and cardiovascular data (e.g. cardio-respiratory interaction).
