Ad hoc workshops are small two days workshops organized by authors of the crystallographic software Jana2006. The topics and dates are selected by participants. The topic of the 7th workshop are magnetic structures.

The purpose of this workshop is detailed explanation of the new option in Jana2006 for refinement of magnetic structures from neutron powder or single crystal data. Jana2006 includes tools for determination of magnetic symmetry from the symmetry of diffraction pattern as well as tools for representative analysis.

Topics of the 6th Workshop: (INT1) Introduction to Jana software, solution of simple 3d structures; (CHF) Application of charge flipping to 3d and modulated structures; (PWD) Refinement from powder data; (INT2) Introduction to modulated structures, solution of simple 4d structures; (TW) Twins and multiphases.

The series of International Symposia on Ferroic Domains and Micro- to Nanoscopic Structures (ISFD‘s) is devoted to phenomena originating to basic and applied aspects of structural changes in condensed matter connected with breaking of crystal symmetry.

The scope of ISFD‘s covers in particular:

The idea of regular scientific meetings of physicist involved in studies of ferroelectrics and phase transitions in Poland and Czechoslovakia followed inevitably from the success of first such event in Blazejewko in 1979. The Seminar was organized in collaborating of the Department of Dielectric of the Institute of Physics of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Ferroelectric Lab of the Institute of Molecular Physics of Polish Academy of Sciences. The Seminars are an international forum for presentation of recent results, unconstrained discussions and initiating of joint studies.
