The successful candidates will explore the emerging potential of helquats. The work will include organic synthesis of novel organic cations as well as the follow up studies focused at interactions with biomolecular targets. The position is open for one year, with possible extension.
Postdoctoral position in computational chemistry (Prof. Pavel Hobza)Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the group of Prof. Pavel Hobza at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Prague, Czech Republic. The applicant will work on development of algorithms for efficient optimization of large molecular systems in mixed cartesian/internal coordinates. This topic is an important part of our large project, the application of quantum-mechanical methods in computer-aided drug design. We are looking for candidates with solid programming skills and working knowledge of algebra. Previous experience with molecular geometry optimization algorithms is welcome but not necessary if substituted with other skills and a will to learn.
