„Tracing the dinosaur” n the Botanic Garden, Praha-Troja, April 23, 2011
About three thousand people interested in dinosaurs (mostly children) came to the Prague Botanic garden to take a part in the unveiling ceremony of the recently discovered dinosaur trace, the second one in the Czech Republic. During the event, a series of competitions and shows was realized chiefly by the staff of the Botanic Garden, the Czech Radio editors and national scientific institutions. Palaeontologist of the Institute of Geology in Prague, Radek Mikuláš, found the trace directly in the Botanic Garden on a sandstone slab coming from the Červený Kostelec site of the north-eastern Bohemia. The origin and interpretation of the trace, as well as its historical geology background, were a subject of one-month radio program series within the popular scientific broadcast called “Meteor”.
