The archaeological potential of Bohemia: theoretical research, methodology and information systems, care for the national cultural heritage
The subject of the activity is research in the field of archaeology in Bohemia, which territory represents archaeological potential enabling scientific knowledge to be obtained with the aid of theoretical research and the development of methodologies. The investigated source material will be exploited so as to ensure not only that scientific data is retrieved, but also protected and managed as part of the national cultural heritage. Archaeological research will use field projects targeting both sites and regions of specific interest and areas of human endeavour and their products. Research will also be conducted in the fields of anthropology, archaeogenetics, palaeozoology, palaeobotany and metallography. Part of the scientific aim is to develop high–quality information systems. The Bohemian Archaeological Database will be administered and updated, as well as Digital Archive and Library. Publication of the two essential peer–reviewed periodicals, and other volumes is secured.
