The EUCYS – European Union Contest for Young Scientists is an initiative of the European Commission that was set up in 1989 with the goal of promoting cooperation and interchange between young scientists and guiding them towards a future career in science and technology. The contest is the largest competition for talented young science students in Europe, taking place each year in a different country. In this Jubilee year it will be hosted by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and will take place in Prague, at Výstaviště Praha – Holešovice from 20th to 25th September 2013.
