The aim of the conference is to discuss contemporary problems of fluid mechanics and to bring out latest results obtained in frame of grant projects supported by grant agencies in Czech Republic and abroad. Dr. Timchenko is a senior lecturer at the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Her areas of expertise are computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Research interests include natural convection and phase change problems; solidification and melting processes under earth gravity and space microgravity conditions; cooling of building integrated photovoltaic systems and microelectronic devices; biomedical applications. »»»
The aim of the summer school is to present a comprehensive series of lectures on modern as well as classical problems related to fluid-structure interaction. The emphasize will be on mathematical, computational and experimental topics originating in biomedical applications. The summer course is prepared for graduate students,young scientists, and other interested specialists. Dr. Radka Kellnerová was awarded the prize for best young authors' presentation at the PHYSMOD 2011 conference held in Hamburg on August 22-24, 2011 for her paper entitled Proper orthogonal decomposition of velocity and vorticity field within the street canyon and wavelet analysis of the expansion coefficients.
