Conferences and workshops

Thu, 07/11/2013 - 13:00 - Fri, 08/11/2013 - 15:00

The 9th Interregional Workshop on Advanced Nanomaterials (IWAN) will be held in Prague on 7th – 8th November 2013. This interregional workshop represents a good meeting platform for materials scientists from three neighboring countries - Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic - working in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Past conferences and workshops

Workshop / Thu, 16/12/2010 - 09:00 - Fri, 17/12/2010 - 17:00

Ad hoc workshops are small two days workshops organized by authors of the crystallographic software Jana2006. The topics and dates are selected by participants. Topics of the 6th Workshop: (INT1) Introduction to Jana software, solution of simple 3d structures; (CHF) Application of charge flipping to 3d and modulated structures; (PWD) Refinement from powder data; (INT2) Introduction to modulated structures, solution of simple 4d structures; (TW) Twins and multiphases.

Workshop / Wed, 22/09/2010 - 10:00 - Fri, 24/09/2010 - 13:00

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of physical research on the large infrastructure PALS the Research Centre PALS holds meetings of management committees of the Consortium LASERLAB EUROPE-PALS and PALS10 Workshop focused not only on the results of the past decade but also on the outlook for the future.

Conference / Mon, 20/09/2010 - Fri, 24/09/2010

The series of International Symposia on Ferroic Domains and Micro- to Nanoscopic Structures (ISFD‘s) is devoted to phenomena originating to basic and applied aspects of structural changes in condensed matter connected with breaking of crystal symmetry.

The scope of ISFD‘s covers in particular:

Conference / Tue, 31/08/2010 - Fri, 03/09/2010

The Seminar and School will provide an ideal forum for the presentations and discussions of recent developments and achievements in all theoretical and experimental aspects of preparation processes, characterization and applications of materials in bulk, thin film, nano-crystalline and glassy states.

The scientific sessions will cover the following topics of materials science:

  1. Trends in development of materials research.
  2. Education of materials science at the universities.
  3. Information about the research programmes of individual institution

Conference / Mon, 24/05/2010 - Fri, 28/05/2010

The idea of regular scientific meetings of physicist involved in studies of ferroelectrics and phase transitions in Poland and Czechoslovakia followed inevitably from the success of first such event in Blazejewko in 1979. The Seminar was organized in collaborating of the Department of Dielectric of the Institute of Physics of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Ferroelectric Lab of the Institute of Molecular Physics of Polish Academy of Sciences. The Seminars are an international forum for presentation of recent results, unconstrained discussions and initiating of joint studies.

Workshop / Mon, 26/04/2010 - Tue, 27/04/2010

Topics: Repetition-rate X-ray sources with PW pulses; Plasma physics with high-intensity pulses; Biomolecular and medical applications with rep-rate X-ray sources and accelerated particle sources; Electron and proton acceleration, applications; Compact laser-generated-electron injected FEL; Laboratory astrophysics; Quantum dynamics in intense laser fields. Conference / Mon, 07/09/2009 - Fri, 11/09/2009

Esomat conferences are main European scientific events in the field of martensitic transformations in solids and more particularly in shape memory materials and steels. They have been held on a three-year cycle since 1989 and the Esomat2009 in Prague was the first conference held out of the former western Europe.
