The article brings an overview of theoretical approaches to gender differences on the labor market and their critics. Based on data from a representative research of university graduates we explore their interpretation of the lower position of women on the labor market. Results indicate that it´s possible to use theories that highlight biases concerning female and male labor force as a source of discrimination, as a basis for the research of the lower position of women on the Czech labor market.The article brings an overview of theoretical approaches to gender differences on the labor market and their critics.
